Had Christmas dinner with Joel and his family. Nice people, great food. Drank some amazingly tasty Burgundy from Joel’s famous wine collection. Learned that I should buy a specific cookbook by the author of La Technique, who has his own show on PBS. I’ll look it up in the morning.

I’ve kept myself up until all hours of the night fiddling with the style of this Web page. A quick reference to an online CSS tutorial taught me enough about style sheets to get into trouble. Now the page looks a lot better. I’m frustrated by the Search box, which seems determined not to fall in line with everybody else on the right-hand side of the page.
