It looks like someone else has had the same reaction to molecular biology as I did: it’s all just software engineering.

No post on molecular biology would be complete without a plug for Molecular Biology Made Simple and Fun. One of my favorite science books ever, it manages to be very silly without trivializing anything. Matt Ridley’s Genome is also great, of course.
