Thanks to the excellent design of Wordpress 1.5, and some nifty work by an Australian designer, Ian Main, who I have never heard of before but who is my new hero, I can now stand to look at my blog without wincing. I’m sorry, but we couldn’t continue to have that old shade of blue on a blog that’s called “Castle Black”. We just couldn’t.
While I’m indulging in a fatally boring session of writing about blogging, I should set some goals for myself: it would be nice if the categories that I’m not using were replaced by a tagging system that I would be willing to use; it would be nice if I finally got around to writing some static pages and putting some actual blogs in my blogroll; it would be nice to edit this new theme to remove the strange non-grammatical phrasing: “posted on the February 14, 2006”. This bad grammar might derive from the fact that dates are written differently in Australian: if it were to read “posted on the 14 February 2006” it would sound much better. But, at the moment, it just sounds overly cute, like a five-year-old with an intentional lisp. This must be changed.
The truly hip, of course, have all migrated to Wordpress 2.0 by now…
